Angelina Jolie Sighting?

(download)

If you walk the streets of Paris, you will find the Hotel Du Louvre, a famous hotel adjacent to the Louvre museum. With its quaint charm and elegance, it speaks of mystery and intrigue with a story that was told in a recent movie, The Tourist.

Turn the corner of the hotel and on the left side of this picture you will find the Brasserie Du Louvre, a lovely outdoor cafe attached to the hotel. In the next picture you will see the Brasserie with an empty table where Angelina Jolie sat as she was filmed in an opening scene of The Tourist.

Instead of a croissant, she could have had these lobster bites--delicate morsels of petite food that even Angelina could have eaten without guilt. They were on the menu, Angelina.

Other people sitting at a table near the Louvre show how much the people of Paris enjoy themselves over a good meal. I can hardly wait to return to Paris in July.

Winter Snow in Texas

(download)

Last week Texas had a winter storm that iced the roads for four days, topped by heavy snow. Without adequate snow equipment to clear the roads, most of us were stuck in our homes. It was not until day five that we were able to get to our offices. The picture of the bridge was taken from our NBCF headquarters office window. The pool picture was the beautiful view we had at home of our backyard.

The Best of Texas at Rough Creek Lodge-Dallas

(download)

I took these pictures while visiting Rough Creek Lodge and Resort in Dallas, which combines a state-of-the-art conference center with fine cuisine. While enjoying the experience of the Old West with 80 activities such as zip line and mountain climbing, horseshoes and washers, nature trail, and horseback riding, don't forget the spa, and what I enjoyed the most--a cooking demonstration by Chef Gerard Thompson.

Several photos are of Chef Gerard and staff in his kitchen. I was impressed with the organization of a relatively small kitchen for the amounts of food produced for hundreds of guests. Everything was precision-timed and exquisite!

If you are ever in Dallas, take the time to go for a 90-minute ride to one of the most fun resorts in Texas. Sometimes the best places are in your own backyard.

I Am Second

I Am Second Video - Janelle's Journey of Faith

There are rare moments in life when one has the opportunity to allow others to catch a glimpse inside their souls. For many years I kept my personal life to myself. So many people have asked me to share the story of how my faith in God helped me face breast cancer as a young woman and became the sustaining strength of my life these past 30 years since that encounter, that I now take this opportunity to let you take a look inside the heart of Janelle Hail. You will find that I Am Second.

My Favorites

With my photography, I enjoy looking for the unusual things of life, perhaps people or things I have overlooked in the past. I saw this old man sitting on a bench in Paris. His appearance intrigued me, so I tried to get as close to him as I could without agitating him and without being too obvious. When I pivoted around to snap a picture, he stared at me straight on with a "don't care" look.

The nature shots are among some of my favorites because they, too, are things that are easily overlooked and have a strange beauty about them. How many times have you walked past the ordinary things in life and never noticed?
